Outline and Purpose of the Course This seminar aims to understand the points at issue in the early modern history of Europe more deeply by reading and discussing recent publications.
Course Goals This seminar aims at helping students understand the important problems of early modern European history.
Schedule and Contents We often call the early modern period in Europe "the age of the printing revolution." This change was not only a technical one, but also a fundamental transformation of the methods of generation, preservation, and circulation of knowledge.

We will read and discuss the following book which views these changes as an information revolution:

Paul M. Dover, The Information Revolution in Early Modern Europe, Cambridge University Press: Cambridge, 2021.

Week 1: Introduction.
Weeks 2-15: Reading and discussion.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Students will be evaluated by reading and joining discussions.

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Students must prepare the seminar each week.
