Outline and Purpose of the Course | This course offers an introduction to Gandhari language and historical grammar of Middle Indic languages. Along with language and literature, the special script for writing Gandhari texts, namely Kharosthi script will be learnt as well. The reading materials include Khotan Dharmapada and inscription of King Senavarma. Therefore, this course provides glimpses into development of early Buddhism and early history of India as well as deposit of Buddha’s relics. | ||
