Outline and Purpose of the Course In this lecture we will discuss on Part B and C of Reason Chapter of Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirt. In this Part Hegel presents his conception of modern society, especially how the individuals contribute to the construction of social community through their actions. It implies his interesting view on theory of action.
Course Goals In this lecture students are supposed to learn:
1. Hegel's conception of the relationship between individuals and society in the modern western society.
2. Hegel's interpretations of some classical novels like Goethe's Faust and Schiller's The Robbers.
