Outline and Purpose of the Course In this course, we read relatively simple novels of Luigi Pirandello (1867-1936) in order to develop reading comprehension of Italian texts.
Course Goals To acquire sufficient level of reading comprehension to understand Italian texts independently.
To gain a better understanding of Italian society and culture through reading Italian novels.
Schedule and Contents Week 1: Introduction

Weeks 2-14: Students read the text with a focus on grammar. The course will emphasize accuracy in reading, according to students' grammatical knowledge.

Week 15: Feedback
Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation will be based on class participation and short reports.
Course Requirements An understanding of basic Italian grammar.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Preparation is everything in this course. Please not only look up the meanings of individual words but also try to understand the contents of the textbook.
