Outline and Purpose of the Course Music is an art that has been assembled in time. Music has been established in various mechanisms of society, and has been nurtured in connection with people's behavior and values. Therefore, the evaluation of a certain music can not be reduced only to the nature of music, it can not be considered separately from the social meaning granted there. The purpose of this lecture is to learn the basics of music theory and to acquire the skills necessary to deal with music in an interdisciplinary manner.
Course Goals The goal of this lecture is to acquire the ability to apply quantitative analytical methods to various studies related to music culture. In this lecture, statistical analysis software R is used to analyze actual music. It is necessary for students to build an implementation environment for this on their own PC. In the 01-03 session, the environment construction and operation methods are explained. After that, acoustic analysis will be carried out in the 04-10th, and score analysis will be carried out in the 11-14th.
