Outline and Purpose of the Course	「自己とは何か」「自己はいかにして経験・意識されるのか」「我々はどのような自己を実現すべきなのか」自己をめぐるこれらの問題は、古今東西の哲学の大問題でした。またこれらの問題は、心理学・認知科学・精神医学・社会学などの分野でも盛んに論じられてきました。この授業では、講師が展開している「われわれとしての自己」という新たな自己観から、これらの問題にアプローチします。またパンデミック状況が許せば、海外の第一線の哲学的自己論の研究者をゲストスピーカーとして招き、「われわれとしての自己」とは異なった視点を交えた議論も行います。 What is self? How is self experienced? What should self be? Those questions are among the most important ones for the Western and Eastern philosophies for millennia. They have been also much discussed in such fields as psychology, cognitive science, psychiatry and sociology. This seminar will explore those questions from the perspectives of the novel idea of self proposed by the lecturer; i.e., Self-as-We. If the pandemic situation allows, we will invite frontiers of philosophy of self from oversea, and discus on those issues with them.
Course Goals	受講者は、自己論に関連する様々なトピックに関する哲学的議論について、歴史的な経緯を踏まえた最先端の知識を得ることができると共に、それらの知識を活用しつつ哲学的な議論を展開するスキルを身につけることができる。 Students can obtain up-to-date knowledge of philosophical discussions in such areas as metaphysics, philosophy of mind and action, phenomenology, and analytic Asian philosophy, and also acquire skills of philosophical argumentation, critical reading of philosophical texts, articulation and presentation of their own ideas.
