Outline and Purpose of the Course We will study intermediate grammar, pronunciation, conversation, writing, and reading comprehension. Using the major theme of the history of Japanese-Korean interaction, we will learn not only vocabulary, but also consider cultural, social, and historical circumstances, while providing comprehensive information on all matters concerning South Korea and the Korean peninsula. Small tests will be given to check for understanding of class content. Printed teaching materials will be handed out as necessary to aid understanding.
Course Goals Learn intermediate Korean grammar and be able to directly apply that knowledge in conversation.

Weeks 3-4: Adjective-Derived Verbs
Week 5: Selection Negation
Week 6: Limits
Week 7: Quotations
Weeks 8-9: Chinese Words
Weeks 10-11: Main Particles
Weeks 12-13: Main Endings
Week 14: Interrogative Form
Week 15: Final Exam
Evaluation Methods and Policy Presentations in class (20%), one quiz (20%) and a final exam (60%).
