Outline and Purpose of the Course This class aims to read a text on historiography in French language and to understand historical terms and concepts more accurately.
Course Goals This class aims at learning vocabulary and expressions related to history in the French language.
Schedule and Contents In this class we will read the introduction and chapters I-IV of the following book:

Nicolas Offenstadt, L'historiographie, PUF: Paris, 2011.

This book from the Que sais-je? series is an introduction to the fundamental problems of European historiography.

Week 1: Orientation.
Weeks 2-13: Text-reading.
Week 14: Feedback.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Students will be evaluated by reading and translating the text in the class.

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Students must prepare for class every week.
