| Outline and Purpose of the Course | Edgar Allan Poeの短編は、日本でも愛読者が多い。前知識ゼロで読んでも面白い作品揃いだが、当時流布していた疑似科学的言説や人種表象など、19世紀米国社会に蔓延していたイデオロギーを巧みに取り込んだ作品群であることを知ると、いっそうPoeの天才ぶりが身にしみて分かるだろう。 | |||

| Evaluation Methods and Policy | 毎回のコメントシートの記入（20％）・発表（40％：予定回数は2回）・期末レポート（40％）にて評価する。優れたコメントはPandAにアップロードする。発表は担当作品に関するもので、25分から30分ほどの長さとする。残りの時間は参加者全員によるディスカッションに充てられる。読まずに授業に参加した場合、欠席扱いとなるので注意すること。 | |||
