Outline and Purpose of the Course This course intends to introduce the later medieval philosophy of the Christian tradition. We will look at important doctrines and discussions of five major medieval thinkers. We will also sometimes look at influences of ancient philosophy and connections with Christian doctrines in the medieval discussions.
Course Goals You will have basic knowledge of late medieval philosophy.
You are expected to understand important doctrines and discussions of six major Western thinkers from 13th to 14th century.

Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation through short essays (4 essays, 25 points for each)
Course Requirements This course is recommended if you have taken History of Western Medieval Philosophy (1).
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) You are expected read relevant texts (distributed in the course) before each lecture.
