Outline and Purpose of the Course The First World War was the foundational moment of the modern world. A vital question to be asked next is: What kind of modern world emerged out of the ashes brought about by the First World War? In tackling this question, a thoroughgoing reconsideration of the Second World War, another global convulsion within twenty years since the end of the first, is nothing but indispensable. This lecture attempts to portray a fresh and updated overall picture of this traumatic catastrophe.
Course Goals To grasp the Second World War, which was highly complex, in its totality and understand the long shadow it cast upon the world since.
