| Outline and Purpose of the Course | The purpose of the seminar is to provide the students with the opportunity to translate the Greek text of Paul's letter to the Romans chs. 1-8 and learn to appreciate the theological, historical and social issues behind the text. The New Testament is the foundation for understanding Christian thoughts, and the ability to read the text in its original language and to have a fair grasp of its theology is crucial for those who attempt a research in the field of Christian Thoughts. | |||
| Course Goals |
At the completion of the course, students will be able; 1. to understand the Greek expressions peculiar to Paul and properly translate the text, 2. to clearly explain notable theological features of the first half of the letter to the Romans, and 3. to elucidate theological and socio-historical issues behind the text. |
