Outline and Purpose of the Course  The ability to read ancient documents accurately and to handle them properly is a fundamental skill in studying Japanese history. The purpose of this class is to improve the ability of students who have already taken "Ancient and Medieval Ancient Documents (beginner)". Specifically, the purpose of this course is to improve the ability to accurately decipher kuzushi-ji characters and understand the contents of descriptions by reviewing and deciphering ancient and medieval documents held by the Kyoto University Museum, and to acquire a deeper knowledge and way of thinking in paleobunshogaku, and to hone the skills to properly handle ancient and medieval documents.
Course Goals Improve the ability to accurately read kuzushi-ji characters and understand the contents.
Acquire deep knowledge and ideas of paleontology.
Acquire the skills to properly handle ancient and medieval documents.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Determine the regular attitude score (50%) and the test to be performed at the end of the practice (50%) comprehensively.
Course Requirements It is intended for students of Japanese history.
It is intended for students who have already taken the "Ancient and Medieval Ancient Documents (beginner)" course.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) -Self-study of paleontology according to the instruction in the class.

References, etc. You need to have the "Kuzushi-jikyoku-jikyoku" and "Kuzushi-jikyoku-jikyoku" that will be introduced during the class.
