Outline and Purpose of the Course In this course we will explore the central themes of the philosophy of nature in the context of the question of the animal and animality. Although "animal" and "nature" are not interchangeable categories, they are closely linked in the history of thought. From the problematization of these concepts, we will try to deconstruct the concept of nature and investigate the ethical significance of these problems in our present time.
Course Goals Students will learn about the most recent issues in the field of philosophy of nature and animal and environmental ethics. At the same time, emphasis will be placed on the exercise of logical and discursive argumentation.
