Outline and Purpose of the Course The concept of "nature" is extremely familiar to us, and yet it is extremely obscure. The difficulty in defining and demarcating the limits of this concept has to do with the way in which human beings have perceived their environment throughout history. In this seminar we will try to progressively deconstruct the concept of nature while making explicit the political and ethical implications of this term.
Course Goals The main objective of the seminar is to provide students with the theoretical tools to be able to critically reflect on contemporary problems related to the concept of nature. Students will be able to recognize different philosophical perspectives and argue logically from their own point of view.
