Outline and Purpose of the Course ・簡単なあいさつや、質問・応答などの日本語による会話を身につける。

The purpose of this class is to provide students with communication abilities necessary to perform basic greetings as well as to ask and answer simple questions.
Course Goals ・日本語だけで話す習慣を身につける。
・名詞文、形容詞文、動詞文などのパターンが使えるようになる。
・自己紹介や数字を使った表現、一日の生活、好き嫌いや予定などについて話せるようになる。
・JLPT N5/ CEFR A1 レベルに相当するレベルを達成すること。

・To get used to speaking Japanese only.
・To be able to use basic sentence patterns using nouns, adjectives, and verbs.
・To be able to introduce yourself, express and ask something using numbers, talk about daily life, about likes and dislikes and about your plans.
・To attain a level of proficiency equivalent to the JLPT N5 or CEFR A1 levels.
Schedule and Contents ・音声録音や動画撮影の課題を多く課す。発音練習や動画撮影のために各自のスマートフォンやタブレットなどのデバイスを使用するので準備すること。

・Homework in the form of voice recording and video recording will be assigned.　You will use your own device such as a smartphone or a tablet for pronunciation practice and video recording.

Evaluation Methods and Policy ・授業参加度 10% 宿題 30% 中間課題 30% 期末課題 30%で評価する。
・成績評価基準の更なる詳細については、授業中に指示する。
・5回以上の欠席者は評価の対象としない。

・The student's grade will be based on class participation 10%, homework 30%, and mid-term and final examinations 30% each.

・Details of the grading method and evaluation criteria will be provided in class.
・Students who are absent 5 or more times will not be evaluated.

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) ・毎回、復習すること。声に出す練習を意識的に行うこと。
・4週目以降はひらがな・カタカナが読めることが望ましい。

・Review each lesson. Students are strongly encouraged to practice speaking up.
・Students are expected to be able to read hiragana and katakana from the fourth week.
