| Outline and Purpose of the Course |
・基本的な語彙やフレーズを用いた実践的な日本語を身につけ、日本語学習への興味を促す。 The purpose of this class is for beginners to acquire practical Japanese using basic vocabulary and phrases and to have interest in studying Japanese. |

| Course Goals |
・日本語での発話に慣れる。 ・フレーズとその機能を学習して、すぐに使える実践的な日本語を身につける。 ・自己紹介や買い物に使う表現、時間や場所を尋ねる表現、許可、依頼、予定や行動や感想を述べる表現を学び、話せるようになる。 ・To become familiar with Japanese conversation. ・To study phrases and their functions in order to acquire practical Japanese for immediate use in the world. ・To be able to introduce yourself, use expressions for shopping, ask the time and place, ask permission, make requests, and talk about plans, activities and impressions. |

| Schedule and Contents |
・各回、目標に沿って、口頭練習を行う。 ・口頭練習では、学生同士のペアワーク、グループワーク、教師との会話などにより練習を進める。 ・授業計画は以下の通りである。 第 1週 ガイダンス、あいさつ、自己紹介 第 2- 7週 第1～6課 第 8週 会話の復習、および中間試験 第 9-14週 第7～12課 第15週 期末試験 第16週 フィードバック ＊授業計画は、学生の能力や要望により変更することがある。 Week 1 Orientation, Greetings, Self-introduction Week 2-7 Lesson 1-6 Week 8 Review & Midterm Exam Week 9-14 Lesson 7-12 Week 15 Final Exam Week 16 Feedback ＊The class schedule may change depending on the students' abilities and requests. |

| Evaluation Methods and Policy |
・「参加態度」30％、と「中間試験、期末試験」70％で評価する。 ・成績評価基準の更なる詳細については、授業中に指示する。 ・全回数の三分の一以上の欠席者は評価の対象としない。 ・The student’s final grade will be based on 1) in-class participation (30%), and 2) a midterm exam and final exam (70%). ・Details of the grading method and evaluation criteria will be provided in class. ・Students who are absent from 1/3 or more of the total number of class sessions will not be evaluated. |

| Study outside of Class (preparation and review) |
・授業後の復習として、習得に必要な言葉をテキストを見ないで言えるまで練習すること。 ・4週目以降はひらがな・カタカナが読めることが望ましい。 ・After each class, please practice until you can say the words you need to know without looking at the book as review. ・Students are expected to be able to read hiragana and katakana from the fourth week. |
