| Outline and Purpose of the Course |
【研究科横断型教育の概要・目的】 This class is designed for graduate students to learn a great variety of researches conducted at the frontier of Sustainability Science. Sustainability Science is multidisciplinary research that was lately created advance sustainable development and sustainable society. The class adopts carbon neutrality as the core topic, giving lectures on Day 1, and conducting group discussions on Day 2&3, about future visions of carbon neutral society, and pathways and transformative changes to attain the vision. We employ the "future design" as a methodology to do this group work. In this regard, this class welcomes students from a variety of graduate schools, research field and backgrounds. 本講義は，サステイナビリティ学という持続可能な発展・社会を実現するために新たに創設された複合的な学問領域で行われている先端の研究に関する知見を学び，実現可能な持続可能な発展や社会のビジョンを受講生1人1人が構想することを目的としている． 2022年度は，未来のカーボンニュートラル社会のあり様と，そこに至る道筋や社会転換に必要となる考え方を検討する．初日は主に講義を行い，２・３日目にグループ演習および発表を行う．演習では特に、将来世代に持続可能社会を引き継ぐための社会の仕組みをデザインする「フューチャー・デザイン」の考え方を取り入れ，未来のカーボンニュートラル社会のあり様と，特にそのような社会につながるライフスタイル転換のための施策や考え方について学生間で議論を行う． そこで，地球環境学専攻だけでなく，多様な研究科の学生の受講を歓迎する． |

Students are expected to understand substantial issues on sustainability science such as nexus between factors that can achieve each sustainable development goal, and conflict of interests between generations. 持続可能社会実現に関わる様々な要素のつながり（Nexus）や、世代間利害対立問題など、サスイナビリティ学の本質的な内容を習得することを目的としています． |

| Schedule and Contents |
This class is an intensive one that is held in three days. It consists of lectures; group works and group presentations. Lectures are composed of carbon neutrality, sustainability transitions, and future design. Groups will be organized by students from different universities. All the lectures and group works are held online. 授業は講義とグループワーク・グループ報告で構成され，3日間の集中講義としてオンラインで提供される．授業内容は，カーボンニュートラル，持続性移行，フューチャー・デザインで構成される．グループは原則異なる大学の学生で構成される． Course outline (tentative): Lecture 1: Introduction: Sustainability science, carbon neutrality, and future design Lecture 2-4: Technology, society and policy toward carbon neutrality Lecture 5: Organizing groups Lecture 6-7: Retrospective of past climate actions Lecture 8-12: Group works with Future design Lecture 13-15 Group presentation, and feedback |

Students are expected to advance group works in between the class dates, as the class will be open for three days on Saturday, Sunday and Satuardy next week. 土曜日・日曜日．翌週の土曜日の3日間で開講予定で，グループ報告を最終日に実施するため，週の間の平日もグループワークを進めることが期待されます． |
