Outline and Purpose of the Course	現在、医療データを取り扱う情報技術は病院を運営するだけでなく、一般的な生活を支えるために必要な基盤となっている。本講義では、病院を取り巻く情報技術に焦点を充て、データ収集基盤の基礎から各種医療データの収集技術に触れ、病院情報システムを構成する各種主要なシステムについて講じ、さらには最新の大規模医療情報システムの実例を紹介する。情報技術だけでなく、病院を支える実例に触れることで社会性を意識しつつ、社会情報学的視点でのものの考え方を身につけることを目指す。 　Currently, information and communication technologies (ICT) for handling medical data are necessary not only for hospital management but also for daily health support. This lecture provides fundamental knowledge for data handling platforms, and discusses medical data collection technologies as well as major sub-systems that form a hospital information system. In addition, recent large-scale medical information systems are introduced by showing the practical cases. Students are expected to deeply consider the social applicability, and to obtain the perspective of a social informatician.
Course Goals	本講義の履修を通じて、技術が社会をどのように変えていくのかをつぶさに観察し、社会や技術の有り様を、社会科学と自然科学を跨がった広い視点から俯瞰して考える力を養い、新しい技術を大胆に取り入れながら連続性を持って変革していく社会や企業体などを導くことが出来る力を身につけることを目指す。 また、医療情報システムを構成する各種技術やノウハウを身につけ、病院を取り巻く社会の仕組みを考慮しつつ、病院を支える医療情報システムの設計・提案ができる力を身につけることを目標とする。 　Students will observe how information communication technology is changing social medical systems. As a result, students will obtain a broad scope of social medical systems, and, consequently, the skill to lead companies or society for new frontiers of medicine with gradually emerging technologies. Additionally, students are expected to learn each technology that is used to create medical information systems, and to acquire skills to design or propose a medical information system that supports hospital work.

Evaluation Methods and Policy	講義に関するレポートにより評価する。講じた内容に関する包括的理解度と、社会情報学的視点で自ら考えて議論を組み立てているか否かを、具体的評価基準とする。 Students submit reports. The originality of the discussion, social insights, and understandings of general view given in the lecture will be evaluated.

Study outside of Class (preparation and review)	講義前に配布される資料を読み込み、そこに現れる用語などについて予めインターネットなどで調査を行うとともに、講義後にも得られた知識を元に、改めて様々な記事などに目を通して考える作業を行うことが求められる。レポート作成時には、充分考えた内容を元に、与えられた課題に対して、自らの考えを記すことを求める。 Students should read given materials and study given technical terms and related materials by external information source such as the Internet. Students need to express their own opinions for short essay after deep thinking with obtained knowledge through lectures and self-study.
