Outline and Purpose of the Course | This course is provided in English by the Global Health Interdisciplinary Unit. It includes a wide variety of classes to provide students with insight into global health challenges. Students will be introduced to the sociocultural, economic, political, and environmental factors that globally affect the health of populations. A series of guest speakers will be drawn from diverse fields to share their expertise. We welcome students from all faculties and graduate schools. | |||
Course Goals | To gain a wide range of perspectives and critical knowledge about current global health issues. Students will be able to understand why tackling global health issues is such an important endeavor to reduce poverty, build stronger economies, and promote peace. | |||

-The course is presented in lecture/group discussion format -Each class is provided by an expert in the field -All sessions are conducted in English -All lectures will be conducted as live lectures through Zoom. -Attendance is mandatory for all lectures except for exceptional circumstances. -Grading is based on Term Paper (100%). -See the course homepage on PandA for details of attendance, term paper, and course contact information. |
