Outline and Purpose of the Course | The objective of the course is to introduce light control technologies. Staring with explaining the wave equation and basic properties of light, I will expand the lectures up-to cutting-edge light control technologies based on nanostructures. | ||

1. Overview of the course, introduction to light (1 week) 2. Maxwell’s equations, wave equation (3 weeks) 3. Reflection, transmittance, total internal reflection (2 weeks) 4. Interference, diffraction, and its control (2 weeks) 5. Light emission, absorption, and its control (2 weeks) 6. Cutting-edge light control technologies based on nanostructures (4 weeks) 7.
