Outline and Purpose of the Course (Aim) Through presentations and related discussions, students will gain advanced knowledge and learn individual interpretation methods and logical thinking in the field of clinical pharmacy. The course also aims for students to develop the procedural skills in research that are required of pharmacists supporting advanced medical care, as well as problem-solving skills to handle various scientific issues.
(Summary) The course introduces pioneering findings in clinical pharmacy, which are used as a basis for discussion. Guidance on presentation and discussion methods will be circulated in advance via bulletin and will also be explained in the first seminar.
Course Goals ・To gain knowledge on the latest findings needed to conduct clinical pharmaceutical research.
・To develop the presentation and communication skills needed to excel as a researcher.
Schedule and Contents Each of the following subjects is intended to account for 1-3 weeks of classes:
1. Outline logical thinking and problem-solving skills in clinical pharmacy (Yamashita)
2. DDS and clinical pharmacy (Yamashita)
・ Introduction and data analysis of DDS and clinical pharmacy
・Presentations of research on DDS and clinical pharmacy
・Discussions based on presentations of research on DDS and clinical pharmacy
・Commentary based on presentations of research on DDS and clinical pharmacy
3. Neuropharmacology and clinical pharmacy
・Introduction and data analysis of research on neuropharmacology and clinical pharmacy
・Presentations of research on neuropharmacology and clinical pharmacy
・Discussions based on presentations of research on neuropharmacology and clinical pharmacy
・Commentary based on presentations of research on neuropharmacology and clinical pharmacy
4. Clinical pharmacology and therapeutics and clinical pharmacy (Matsubara, Nakagawa, Yano, Yonezawa, & Omura)
・Introduction and data analysis of research on clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, and clinical pharmacy
・Presentations of research on clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, and clinical pharmacy
・Discussions based on presentations of research on clinical pharmacology and therapeutics, and clinical pharmacy

Evaluation Methods and Policy Students will be comprehensively evaluated based on seminar attendance and their input in presentations and discussion.
