Outline and Purpose of the Course (Aim) This course outlines the methodologies and concepts of bioinformatics to handle voluminous and diverse data in the life sciences and teaches students applied technologies for medical science, drug discovery science, and environmental conservation.
(Summary) This course outlines the basic technologies of bioinformatics: sequence analysis, statistical analysis, multivariate analysis, genome analysis, and network analysis.
Course Goals ・To develop the ability to understand the latest research in bioinformatics.
・To develop the ability to consider how to further develop the latest research and how to apply it to one's own research.
Schedule and Contents 1-15: The following practical training will be held:
Participants will read bioinformatics-related papers from new journals regarding life sciences, medical science, and drug discovery science, summarize and explain their content, and discuss their significance, issues, and future perspectives with other participants.
Evaluation Methods and Policy ・Credits will be given based on attendance, presentations, and level of attainment.
・Level of attainment will be evaluated based on presentation and discussion input.

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) ・Students must read related literature and carry out other thorough preparations for the papers that will be discussed.
・Based on class discussions, students should resolve problems through review.
