Outline and Purpose of the Course This course will teach students with basic experiments and associated teaching methods relating to the design of drug treatment, drug-drug interactions, and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
Course Goals To develop the ability to learn basic experiment methods and associated teaching methods relating to the design of drug treatment, drug-drug interactions, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
Schedule and Contents 1-15: The following practical training will be held:
1) Study of experiment methods and teaching methods relating to pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
・Experiments and analysis of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics using experimental animals
・Analysis of changes in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics during disease using experimental animal disease model
・Experiments on and mechanism analysis of drug excretion using extracted organ perfusion methods
・Analysis of the mechanisms underlying adverse effects of drugs using experimental animal disease models
・Design of drug treatment for individual patients by population pharmacokinetics and Bayesian inference

2) Study of experiment methods and teaching methods relating to pharmacokinetic control factors
・Drug absorption experiments using cultured intestinal epithelial cells
・Drug secretion experiments using cultured renal epithelial cells
・Functional analysis of drug transporters through gene expression
・Tissue distribution analysis of drug transporters through immunological methods
・Gene search and polymorphism analysis of functional proteins involved in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
・Analysis of changes in drug metabolizing enzymes and transporters in experimental animal disease model
Evaluation Methods and Policy Students will be comprehensively evaluated based on practical training design and planning, and the quality and appropriateness of their instruction in practical training.
