Outline and Purpose of the Course | Chemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology research aimed at clarifying and creating the functions of bioactive molecules that control biological functions such as the cellular uptake of substances, signal transduction via cell membranes, and gene recognition and transcription. | |||
Course Goals | To teach students the experiment techniques needed to carry out chemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology research that aims to clarify and create functions of the bioactive molecules that control biological functions and also equip them with the skills to analyze the results. | |||
Schedule and Contents |
It is intended that each of the following subjects will account for 4-6 weeks of classes: ・The creation of the bioactive proteins that control cellular functions and genes ・Functional design and evaluation of cell penetrating peptides ・The chemistry and molecular design of intracellular targeting (nucleus, mitochondria, etc.) ・The development of new methods to analyze the dynamic interactions of the membrane proteins on cell membranes ・The design of environmentally responsive functional peptides |
