Outline and Purpose of the Course Alongside gaining fundamental knowledge to interpret evidence, students will also learn the fundamentals of planning and executing research to gather evidence on their own.
Course Goals 1. Acquire skills to gain fundamental knowledge of research to create your own research protocol.
2. Understand how to submit a protocol to the ethics committee of the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, and doctors at the University Hospital.
3. Obtain basic knowledge necessary to write a scientific paper.
4. Obtain basic knowledge necessary for presentations.
5. Together with ethics policy concerning medical research on humans, acquire skills to understand "Research integrity," based on the regulations passed by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science as well as "研究活動における不正行為へ の対応等に関するガイドライン (Guidelines for Responding to Misconduct in Research)" (August 26, 2014).
6. Acquire skills to select a research design that is suitable for your topic of research and make a presentation.
