Outline and Purpose of the Course |
This class is for students who have studied the fundamentals of cytodiagnosis in Cytodiagnosis (I, II) and the key points of diagnostics. We will teach the practical aspects of cytodiagnosis such as preparing specimens, processing samples, and cell screening. The aim is to take and pass the cytotechnologist exam (Certified by the Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology). The course is conducted in partnership with the pathology and laboratory departments of the university hospital. |

Schedule and Contents |
From September to November (6 hours a week for 10 weeks) Thrice a week (two hours for each session) Conduct clinical practicums at the university hospital pathology department The following content shall be repeated until the skills can be learned: Session 1. Sample processing Session 2. Pre-screening Session 3. Microscopy using clinical specimens Session 4. Participation in meetings |

Evaluation Methods and Policy | Evaluation of participation in class (attendance, comments in class, and attitude toward participation). Attainment of goals will be assessed according to the grading assessment guidelines for the human health sciences major set out in the academic guidelines. | |||
Course Requirements |
Must have obtained credits in Cytodiagnostics I and II. Must hold a medical qualification. Please contact the faculty staff in advance. |

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) | Must have attended Cytodiagnostics I and II and fully examined the corresponding specimens with a microscope. | |||
