Outline and Purpose of the Course After learning the basics of cytodiagnosis and examining the theoretical background such as the key points in diagnostics, we will present real cytodiagnosis specimens using a projector and carry out practicums with microscopes to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for cytologic diagnosis. We will also consider ideas and plans to improve cancer diagnostics. *As the start time and format of this course differ from the usual, those wishing to attend are required to contact the course lecturer in advance.
Course Goals Understand the fundamentals of cytodiagnosis and the theoretical background such as the key points of diagnostics.
Acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for cytodiagnosis.
Develop the ability to devise means of improving cancer diagnostics.
Schedule and Contents Sessions 1-5: Introduction (Fundamental methods of viewing cells)
Sessions 6-10: Detailed explanation
Gynecology, respiratory system, salivary glands, thyroid glands, mammary glands, body cavity fluids, etc.
Sessions 11-14: Comprehensive assignment  
Session 15: Feedback
Evaluation Methods and Policy Evaluation of participation in class (attendance, comments in class, and attitude toward participation).



Attainment goals will be assessed according to the grading assessment guidelines for the human health sciences major set out in the academic guidelines.
