Outline and Purpose of the Course An important element in human communication is decision-making. Clarifying decision-making mechanisms has become an important part of behavioral science and behavioral economics and an important part of healthcare fields such as public health. In this session, we will study human behavior while reading the works of Nobel Laureates Thaler and Sunstein's book, "Nudge" in English, on how we make decisions. Since we emphasize on becoming familiar with English, we recommend this to those who are unfamiliar with or have never read a book in the language.
Course Goals It is essential to read the textbook before each session and create a summary. We will then engage on ways to understand humans while improving our English language skills. It is also necessary for you to make a presentation on a topic of your own choice. We will read texts in English carefully. We encourage those who are not yet familiar with English to participate. By reading and studying one book carefully, you will grow accustomed to reading research papers in English.

We will first focus on getting used to English and then on understanding people's modes of perception by reading behavioral science.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) In this class you will study the approach that human health professionals should take by learning human behavioral science, which is necessary for those majoring in human health science. It is essential to read the textbook before coming to class. After class, review your lessons at home using the practice methods necessary to improve your English language skills. As we will address these methods in class, practicing after the second half of the class is recommended.
