Outline and Purpose of the Course We provide practical education on biomedical informatics that is essential for both making optimal decisions and performing optimal medical care that is rooted in scientific evidence in medicine and medical care. Practical lectures are delivered on the fundamental knowledge of planning, data collection, modeling, analysis, diagnosis, evaluation, and interpretation of scientific studies conducted with the aim of contributing to human health.
Course Goals Learn the fundamentals of biomedical informatics and understand the relationship between theory and practice.
Schedule and Contents The following items will be performed 7-8 times. (An orientation will be conducted on the first day)
(1) Trends in Biomedical Informatics in Japan and Overseas [Sasayama]
(2) Medical Information and Biomedical Information [Seiyama / Sasayama]
(3) Neuroinformatics in Neuroscience [Seiyama]
(4) The Current State of Human Disease Genome Analysis and Trends [Seiyama / Sasayama]
Evaluation Methods and Policy Assessment by report

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Tackle the assignments for each of the items in the lesson plan independently and continuously.
