Schedule and Contents |
We often call the early modern period in Europe "the age of the printing revolution." This change was not only a technical one, but also a fundamental transformation of the methods of generation, preservation, and circulation of knowledge. We will read and discuss the following book which views these changes as an information revolution: Paul M. Dover, The Information Revolution in Early Modern Europe, Cambridge University Press: Cambridge, 2021. Week 1: Introduction. Weeks 2-15: Reading and discussion. |
