Outline and Purpose of the Course This is a practical course aimed at training and preparing students for writing research papers. First, the differences between “studying” and “researching” will be clarified, and then, students will deepen their understanding of how to prepare a manuscript according to the steps involved, such as the process of defining the research questions and backing up the argument with evidence, articulating them, creating a list of references, and adding footnotes (endnotes) and citations.
Course Goals The objective for final-year master’s students is to complete their master’s thesis, for first-year master’s students is to narrow down the topic of their master’s thesis, and for doctoral students is to finalize the design of their doctoral thesis, deepen the themes of each chapter, and complete the thesis.
Schedule and Contents Week 1: Orientation: Research presentation procedure and drafting of a tentative schedule

Weeks 2 and 3: Reports on master’s theses and undergraduate theses from the previous academic year

Week 4 to 14: Research reports by graduate students and students planning to submit their undergraduate theses
 Taking turns, each student will present their research from the planning stage of the thesis. Each topic will be discussed and other students will provide their comments on it. Between presentations, students will also check the form and format of academic papers, such as footnotes (endnotes), references, and citations. In addition, the techniques and guidelines for writing papers will be introduced while reading published papers as necessary. Those planning to present at academic conferences will be asked to conduct preliminary exercises.
