Outline and Purpose of the Course |
This course is aimed to help students to have a basic knowledge and understanding about translation of Japanese in terms of Japanese linguistics and history of Japanese. This course has 3 parts. (1) Translation between Japanese and English (2) Translation between present Japanese and past Japanese (3) History of translation in Japan |

The goals of this course are to have a basic knowledge and understanding of: (1) what linguistic aspects affect translation between Japanese and other languages (especially English). (2) what linguistic aspects affect translation between past and present Japaneses. (3) history of translation in Japan. |
