| Outline and Purpose of the Course | Experience-based study on the entire process of social surveys, from planning to report creation. Through such experience, the aim is to somatize the knowledge gained through lectures. A lot of work is required outside of class hours for this. Also, the class will involve consultations and collaborations with other students. | |||

| Schedule and Contents |
Each topic will be covered in about one to two weeks First semester 1. Planning and composing hypotheses for surveys 2. Setting survey categories, creating questions, and preparing questionnaires 3. Pretesting and revising questionnaires 4. Selection of target groups and regions 5. Conducting a survey (distribution and collection of questionnaires, interviews) 6. Editing 7. Aggregation and analysis 8. Visualizing data 9. Hypothesis verification 10. Creating a report Second semester 1. Data entry and reading 2. Creating simple tables and histograms 3. Working with variables 4. Creating cross tables and bar graphs 5. Making scatter plots and boxplots 6. Splitting and merging datasets 7. Test of independence 8. Difference of means test 9. Multiple cross table analysis 10. Regression analysis |
