Outline and Purpose of the Course |
Intended for students with little or no previous instruction in Hebrew who are seriously interested in the basic elements of Hebrew grammar as a preparation for reading Bible, Jewish Medieval exegesis as well as various texts of modern time. The class will be focused on understanding of basics such as letters, signs, nouns, adjectives, participle, etc, with special attention to "dikduk" of Elias Levita (1469-1549). |
Course Goals |
The goals are to be able to recognize letters and vowel signs to pronounce, to be able to appreciate &compose various types of nominal sentence with/without vowel signs, and to see and translate the possibilities of parts of speech in several ways. |
