| Outline and Purpose of the Course |
This class aims that students acquire the skill of critical research, as well as writing academic papers and theses, in the field of Indology and the Sanskrit studies by presenting the result of their research on the subject they have chosen and critically discussing it with the other participants. |

| Course Goals | Students can learn a variety of research methods and acquire the skill of critical research in the field, especially for their theses. | ||
| Schedule and Contents | A student present his/her research in a class and discuss it with the other participants (15 weeks). The students who are to submit their BA, MA or PhD theses in that year should present a subject related with their theses. The other students can choose any subject they are working on. They are also allowed to introduce some recent, interesting studies on the relevant subject. Each student is given a chance of presentation once or twice in each term. A teacher or a visiting scholar may sometimes present his/her own research in order to demonstrate various research subjects and methods. Presentation should be within half an hour in order to make sufficient time for discussion. | ||

| Course Requirements |
In principle, the registration is restricted to only the students of the department of the Indological Studies, but stuents of the other departments can also register the class if their research subjects are related with the Indology and the Sanskrit studies. |
