Outline and Purpose of the Course | The First World War was the foundational moment of the modern world. A vital question to be asked next is: What kind of modern world emerged out of the ashes brought about by the First World War? In tackling the question, a thoroughgoing reconsideration of the Second World War, another global convulsion within twenty years of the end of the first, is nothing but indispensable. This lecture attempts to portray a fresh and updated overall picture of this traumatic catastrophe. | |||
