Outline and Purpose of the Course | Reading Seneca's De brevitate vitae, basic skills for Latin are taught to those who have just finished a course of the grammar. | |||
Course Goals | Attendants are to acquire a fundamental sense of Latin language, richer Latin vocabulary, and better reading faculty for complex structure and style. They will be also familiar with Roman history and culture. | |||
Schedule and Contents |
Some chapters of the text will be read each time, while reviewing the grammar, as attention will be called to what is often missed by beginners: different senses of a word, idiomatic phrases, and characteristic syntaxes. 1.
