Outline and Purpose of the Course Through close reading of Measure for Measure, this seminar aims at acquiring basic knowledge on Shakespeare's style and vocaculary, as well as analysing the play.
Course Goals 1 To learn how to use the Oxford English Dicrionary and other references for the study of early modern English drama
2 To find appropriate topic for academic thesis by acquiring basic knowledge on early modern English literature
Schedule and Contents Weeks 1-15 Close reading of the text according to the previous assignment and discussion

Students are to be assigned about 50 lines each round.
The number of lines to read at each session varies according to the difficulty of scenes and the competence of students.
Evaluation Methods and Policy Performance in class 100%
(Reading of assigned lines: 50% / Understanding of the play in general: 50%)
Course Requirements Students who did not attend the first semester's Seminar 1 have to ask the instructor for permission in Week 1.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Read the text thoroughly before the class utilising the Oxford English Dictionary and other references.
Consider the significance of each week's reading in the play after the class.
