Outline and Purpose of the Course Due to excavation of Qin bamboo slips after 1970s,' concerning the second half of the three century B.C., the actual condition of the Qin history, that is incommensurable with before, is revealing. On the other hand, the recognition on the Qin history before the first half of the three century B.C. must still rely on the Shiji. This lecture confirms the characteristics and originality of the Shiji's recognition on the Qin history by comparing with recognitions from the late Warring State to the early Western Han.
Course Goals Mastery of the newest information derived from studies on the pre-imperial period, and the method of critical analyzation of literatures of ancient China
