Outline and Purpose of the Course In this class, we will consider what role the five senses motifs have played in German literature. I would like to verify that literature is closely related to all five senses, not just sight and hearing, in various works of German literature.

Course Goals ・Deepen knowledge and understanding of authors and works of German literature.
・Deepen knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the five senses and literature.

Evaluation Methods and Policy Students will be assessed on their comment papers during class (50%) and on their end-of-term reports (50%).
The end-of-term reports will be assessed based on the level of achievement in reaching the learning targets.
Course Requirements Knowledge of German is not required.
Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Try to read the works covered in class independently as much as possible.
