| Outline and Purpose of the Course | ハーディの小説は、英文学作品の中でも常に高く評価されてきた。中でも代表作の一つ『ダーバヴィル家のテス』は、翻訳や映画で、日本でもよく知られた作品である。本授業では、作品執筆の背景や時代背景、これまでの先行研究で挙げられてきた作品の論点などを考慮にいれながらテクストを丁寧に読み解き、作品の読みどころと作家ハーディの想像力について考えることを目的とする。 | |||

丁寧に辞書を引きながら、原書を楽しんで読むことができる。 小説読解のための基礎的な英語力、小説の技法の基礎知識を身につけている。 先行研究に言及しながら文学作品の読みどころを論じることができる。 |
