Outline and Purpose of the Course This class examines the fundamental problems in investigation, analysis, and description of the society and culture. It will be conducted in a format that is centered on student presentations and discussions.
Course Goals To critically examine the latest knowledge on social and cultural theory and to acquire an original and cutting-edge perspective on their research.
Schedule and Contents First Semester

Week 1. Seminar introduction and description
Self-introduction, choice of texts, and presentations
Week 2-6. Readings, sociology texts
Reading and discussion of texts based on empirical researches, and methodology of empirical researches
Week 7-14. Research Presentations
Student presentations and discussions about their drafts of MA, PhD theses and papers
Week 15. Conclusions

Second Semester
