Outline and Purpose of the Course Each Juku-gi B seminar held for half a day is given by the leading expert in various fields who has sufficient experience and achievements as a leader in the industry, the public sector (incl. international organizations), academic and educational circles, among others. After the lecture from the expert, students conduct intensive discussions with the lecturer. With regard to the major problems currently faced by Japan and the international community, we need to grasp the current situations, learn about the future prospects and the necessary efforts. Simultaneously, students themselves think about the problems and how to approach toward the solutions. By experiencing these processes, students will learn how to analyze and cope with the challenges they face in various aspects. In addition, we aim to cultivate their flexibility that allows for their diverse thinking and broader perspectives that are not limited to individual specialized fields, as well as their motivation and leadership that is indispensable for working as leaders in the future.
Course Goals Students aim to acquire the abilities to think by themselves about what kinds of initiatives are currently required for the problems in which the modern society is located, what is necessary for the solutions, among others by accurately grasping the problems.

Based on the lectures, by further students' deepening the understandings through the discussions, this seminar aims at students to grasp contemporary problems from a bird's-eye viewpoint and to discover clues to solve the problems through their research.
