Outline and Purpose of the Course This course will cover the fundamentals and applications of nanomaterials. The fundamentals unit will cover the synthesis methods for each type of nanomaterial, as well as the surface modification methods, analysis methods, and physical characteristics. The applications unit will mainly cover biomedical applications. Lectures and discussions will be in both Japanese and English.
Course Goals ・To learn each of the analysis methods, principles, scopes of application, and characteristics covered in the course.
・To learn to use basic knowledge to consider various scientific phenomena.
・To develop the logical thinking ability through use of scientific argument.

(3)Applications of nanomaterials 【7 weeks】
Evaluation Methods and Policy 【Evaluation Method】 presentation grade (presentation at every class) (50%), participation grade (50%)

【Evaluation Standards】 Participation grade will be determined based on attendance and thorough participation in class discussions (questions, comments, etc.).

Evaluation based on the achievement of the course objectives under the grading standards of the Department of Human and Environmental Sciences.
