Outline and Purpose of the Course | This course is designed to enhance participants' discussion skills in English. Topics will be ranging from international and global politics to domestic governmental issues, although focus will be on domestic politics. The way the class is operated will be dependent on the number of participants, but we will have discussion classes first and then move to debate classes. | |||

Lecture 1 Introduction Lecture 2-8 phase 1 practice of English reading and discussion Lecture 9-14 phase 2 debates on current issues Lecture 15 post mortem There will be more debate style classes in this course than in Contemporary Issues I. |

Intermediate English abilities are desirable. |

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) | Students will be required to select and present themes of discusssion or debate and related articles in English. All the participants are expected to read them in advance. | |||
