Outline and Purpose of the Course 人間と自然環境の共生、持続的な関係を築くために、どのように人間活動の管理を考えれば良いか、本教育プログラムの根本理念である「森里海連環学」に基づいて、森林から沿岸域までの統合的な観点から考える。第一線で活躍する研究者を招いて、リレー講義方式で行う。講義は原則として英語で行う。コーディネーターは徳地が行う。

This course addresses how human activities may be adjusted to build a symbiotic and sustainable relationship between humans and their environment based on CoHHO (The study of the connectivity of Hilltop, Human and Ocean) from the integrated management perspectives of river basins and coastal areas. Top caliber researchers who are respected authorities in their field of disciplines will hold lectures in English.（Coodinator: Naoko Tokuchi)
Course Goals ・人間と自然の共生、持続的な関係を理解する。
・人間と自然の共生、持続的な関係を築くために必要な人間活動の管理方策を検討する。
・「森里海連環学」に基づいて、森林流域から沿岸海域までの環境管理について、統合的な観点を基盤として考える力を養う


・To learn about sustainable symbiotic relationships between humans and nature.
・To explore methods of managing human activities to build sustainable, symbiotic relationships between humans and nature.
・To foster thinking with a CoHHO (the study of the connectivity of Hills, Humans and Oceans) perspective towards integrated management from forest to coastal areas.
Schedule and Contents 森林から沿岸までの生態系の相互作用や、人間活動の影響とその管理、自然と人との関わり方など、理系から文系までの幅広い専門家が、それぞれの立場からの森里海連環学に基づく流域・沿岸域統合管理について講義を行う。現在予定している講師と演題は、以下の通り。
初回はガイダンス。山下洋「森里海のもつれた三角関係を解く」、吉岡崇仁「人と自然のつながり」、谷内茂男「流域ガバナンスのアポリア（難題）：日本とフィリピンの超学際研究の事例をもとに考える」、徳地直子「森林が形成する河川水質」、三田村啓理「海と川を行き交う動物の行動学」、佐藤拓哉「森林・河川・沿岸域生態系をつなぐ資源循環の原因と結果」。舘野隆之輔、益田玲爾、石原正恵、鈴木啓太、赤石大輔については「未定」。講義の順番は未定。15回目の最終講義時に、フィードバックを行う。



The series of lectures is composed of different topics from natural science to social science focusing on the integrated forest and coastal management through CoHHO perspective. Guidance, Dr. Y.Yamashita :Understanding of the complex triangular relationship in the connectivity of hills, humans and oceans (CoHHO), Dr. T.Yoshioka :Linkages between humans and nature, Dr. S.Yachi :Aporia of watershed governance: considering the case of transdisciplinary research in Japan and the Philippines, Dr. N.Tokuchi :Stream water chemistry leached from forest ecosystem. Dr. H.Mitamura; Animal movements between saltwater and freshwater environments. Dr. T.Sato: Causes and consequences of resource flows across forest, stream and coastal marine ecosystems. The other turn of the lecture is undecided. The last class will give feedback for further understanding of CoHHO.

Achievement level is assessed by GSGES's criteria.
Evaluation Methods and Policy 各回のレポートにより評価する。評価基準及び達成度については、令和３年度地球環境学舎学事要綱記載の［成績評価基準］による。
成績は、各講義後の小レポートを基本とする。
Final course grade will be determined by the evaluation of reports in each lecture. Refer to '2021 Curriculum Guidelines' for attainment levels of evaluation．
