Outline and Purpose of the Course The main purpose of this lecture is to learn deep ecological mind in Kyoto and try some practical activities based on that. Lectures, field works and presentations are given in English and Japanese (sometimes Kyoto-ben).
Course Goals This lecture intends to give the view pint of environmental education when we talk about the history and nature of Kyoto. This connects to the skill that we can discuss about environmental education based on the characteristic of the community. Additionally, students can learn how to encourage the people or community to go to the practical stage.
Schedule and Contents -Lectures about the history and nature of Kyoto, ecological mind or behavior based on them
-Field visit to the historical place which related to the environmental issues
-Lectures and discussion about Kyoto style environmental education
-Practical activities and certification
Evaluation Methods and Policy Positive participation, attendance, presentations and submission of reports are evaluated. Each student is required to make an English presentation related to the lecture contents involving his/her investigation and discussions.

Study outside of Class (preparation and review) Preparation homework is not required, but homework is recommended to follow up each lecture's contents.
