Outline and Purpose of the Course 日本の二次的自然の伝統的管理方法の理解を通して、地球環境親和的な自然の再生方法について考察する。

Discussion concerning regeneration of degraded secondary nature through the understanding of traditional management in Japan
Course Goals 履修終了時には、日本において二次的な自然の維持に貢献してきた森林について、資源管理方法、文化的背景、等を理解している。

At the end of this class, students are required to understand the traditional management, cultural relationship etc. of the secondary woodlands of Japan.
Schedule and Contents 現在の日本の自然環境を考える上で重要な里山について考える。日本独特の自然親和的な自然とのつき合い方が失われつつある現況を踏まえ、再生の可能性、有効な活用手段や方策等を検証し、今後の里山の理想的なあり方を模索する。

We will discuss about Satoyama as one of the most important secondary forest vegetation in Japan. Through the understanding of loss of traditional and naturally-friendly nature management, we try to grope for present ideal treatment of Satoyama.

第1～2回：里山に関する総論（柴田、上賀茂試験地）/General introduction of Satoyama (S.Shibata at Kamigamo Experimental Station, FSERC, Kyoto Univ.)
第3回：里山の現状と再生（柴田、上賀茂試験地）/Present condition and restoration of Satoyama (S.Shibata at Kamigamo Experimental Station, FSERC, Kyoto Univ.)
第4回：里山の管理見学（柴田、上賀茂試験地）/Observation of Satoyama restoration site at Kamigamo, FSERC (S.Shibata at Kamigamo Experimental Station, FSERC, Kyoto Univ.)

第5～8回：里山の現状の授業と見学（深町、比良山麓の里山の予定）/Lecture and observation of the suburban Satoyama area at the Hira foothills (intended)

講義に加えて、各講師がそれぞれの担当終了時にレポートを課す。
In addition to the lectures, each instructor will assign a report at the final lecture of each.

オンラインで実施することがあるため、KULASIS、PandA等で確認すること.

Evaluation Methods and Policy 成績の評価は、講義での積極的な参加とディスカッションの内容(50%)、および、適宜要求されるテーマに基づくレポート(50%)によって行う。特に筆記試験は行わない。

No Exam. Graded by the active participation and discussion (50%) and report (50%).

到達目標について、地球環境学舎の成績評価基準に従って評価する。
Achievement level is assessed by GSGES's criteria.
