Outline and Purpose of the Course This lecture provides some applications of magnetohydrodynamics to instabilities of magnetically confined plasmas for fusion.

(b) Resistive magnetohydrodynamic instability (Tearing instability)
6. Magnetohydrodynamic instability (Pressure driven instability)
(a) Interchange instability
(b) Ballooning instability
